Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been in the headlines as two assailants opened fire outside his Bandra residence on April 14th. The Mumbai Police have made significant progress in the case, arresting not only the shooters but also the alleged suppliers of the firearms. According to a report in India Today, police tracked down two individuals, Sonu Subhash Chander (37) and Anuj Thapan (32), in the northern state of Punjab. These men are believed to be the suppliers of the weapons used in the attack. The Mumbai Police, working with their counterparts in Gujarat, apprehended the two gunmen, Vicky Sahab Gupta and Sagar Shrijogendra Pal, shortly after the incident. Further investigation led the Mumbai Police to recover two pistols, magazines, and bullets from Gujarat's Tapi River, believed to be the weapons used in the attack. The Bombay High Court rejected filmmaker Ramesh Sippy's request for a court-appointed receiver in an ongoing property dispute. The dispute centres on the inheritance of assets belonging to Sippy's late parents [Ramesh Sippy v. Sunhil Sippy & Ors.]. According to a report by Bar and Bench, the Sholay director had filed an interim plea seeking the appointment of a court receiver. This receiver would have taken temporary control of a flat and 27 cinematograph films, which Sippy claimed fell intestate (without a will) upon his parents' passing. The filmmaker further contended that Sippy Films Pvt. Ltd. and its directors were illegally utilising these assets. However, Justice Manish Pitale, presiding over the case, found insufficient evidence from Sippy to support his concerns about the defendant disposing of the flat. The Mumbai Crime Branch has apprehended two individuals allegedly involved in the Sunday morning firing incident outside actor Salman Khan's Bandra West residence. Confirming the arrests, Mumbai Police officials revealed that the accused were apprehended late Monday night in Bhuj, Gujarat.  "Both the accused, who fled Mumbai after the firing, have been arrested from Gujarat's Bhuj," the officials told to ANI.
